What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

Hip hip HOORAY! It’s our 7TH BIRTHDAY so this week we are bringing you a NEW farm stall plus additional pop up stalls and FREE children’s craft activities plus a big birthday cake to celebrate this milestone!

Also we are thrilled to have new season pecans returning.

This week Tweed River Pecans delivers possibly the freshest pecan nuts

in the world to the market! On the trees last week; picked, dried and cracked for you this Wednesday! Spice Palace will have these nuts for you at this great early season value at $17 kg for easy to peel nuts – because they have been cracked for you to peel at home.There are also packe

ts of whole nuts in their shell.

The full range of kernel packs will be available from 25th April.

We welcome NEW stall holders – Ashlee and Matthew from Barefoot F

 

arm. They are adding to our pecan range with their HACCP certified pecans grown on their farm at Eltham. Being friends of Kaye and David’s at Tweed River Pecans they are happy to complement

what TRPecans offer by bringing their value added range that includes chocolate coated pecans, maple roasted pecans, pecan dukkah, Texan BBQ pecans and gluten free treats such as pecan

pie and pecan brownies. They also have pecan based ORGANIC granola and muesli.

Crabbes Creek Woodfired PIZZAS Jon and Gina and their children add PIZZAS to their stall for the school holiday markets – in their usual spot.

POP UP STALLS to celebrate our 7th birthday:

  • Homestead and Co – Sam and Carol are returning with their popular organic bees wax wraps andbees wax bodybalms and boot balm.
  • Mad Mountain Farm – from their Tomewin based organic permaculture farm Lyn and her family:

?grow unusual seedlings such as hyssop, yarrow and other flowering species plus perennials such as gingers, lemongrass, aloe vera, hibiscus, and comfrey. And fruit trees such as paw paw, papaya and tamarillo.

?make a host of unusual value added products including sriracha, chimichurri, paw paw and passionfruit jam, tamarillo jam and a variety of chilli sauces, relishes and pickled chillies, cucumbers etc. All jams, sauces and pickles are made from products grown on their property. Taste testers available.

?Medicinal herbal teas all made from organic produce that is germinated, planted, grown, harvested and packaged by hand on their farm.

  • Colours and Words – Artist and story writer Chris Degenhardt brings his cards, prints and novels. Much of his art work depicts elements of the Tweed Valley flora and fauna and his stories are unique!
  • Tropical Delights with their wonderful tropical fruit trees and flowers.
  • Murwillumbah Mens’ Shed back this week for our celebration.

Back this week is:

  • The Cupboard Above the Kettle who unfortunately had to drop out at the last minute last week due to illness but Al and Jenny are back this week.

Absent this week are:

  • Narbey’s Best Avocados – sadly Doug and Blanche are unable to attend the market this week due to road works that have closed their road.
  • Nudgel Nuts – back from France and ready for the market NEXT week.
  • Belles Kitchen is ABSENT returning in May.

Seasonal produce forecast return dates: Blueberry Fields will be back late May or early June.

FREE – Children’s craft activities – EARTH EXPLORERS bring your children along to create animals and insects from “fabric & bits” animals and to colour in insects vital butterflies, bees and water dragons. Meet some of our crafty critters and find out fascinating facts about their world. Also Bubble Blowing for a bit of fun.
