Rain fresh vegies + Mio Wraps pop up

We are all so grateful for the beautiful rain – that it came ⛈🌨and that it stopped before causing flooding 😅. So now our vegies will be extra nutrient dense – natural rainfall always creates better growth than regular watering. And especially if it is associated with storm activity. WHY? As I posted once before the energy of lightning shatters the nitrogen molecules in the air and some of the free nitrogen atoms combine with oxygen to form compounds called nitrates that mix with the rain. The nitrates are a natural fertiliser carried to the ground in a soluble form that plants can absorb. So atmospheric nitrogen fixation is a real bonus. I’m looking forward to my vegie purchases this week are you?

What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

So much will be wonderfully vibrant this week. As well as super fresh produce we have our week 4 pop up Mio Wraps returning.  Such a great selection of brekky or brunch options! If you haven’t tried a Mio Wrap then perhaps this is the week to enjoy one! This fusion food is what Italian-born Daniele Mantovan and his partner Emiko Doi, created using the flavours of both cuisines. A Mio Wrap is a buckwheat crepe rolled into a cone and filled with fresh vegies combined with your choice of additional elements such as an egg, avocado, mushrooms or cheese. And with seven different choices – all gluten free there is something for you including vegetarian or vegan options.

Super Smoothies is another wonderful brekky or brunch option. Bronwyn offers fresh juices, smoothies and acai bowls. Then there is the ever popular Vietnamese Lotus’s banh mi and spring rolls and Oki Food’s Japanese/Aussie fusion black rice salad or seaweed rolls, chicken katsu, halloumi tempura, and katsu portobello mushroom or a fresh vegetable option.

And of course we have Three Sons Coffee Cartel offering a whole selection of drinks plus Loki Chai with hot and cold chai, Raw Earth Organic – kombucha, bottled juices and bottles of cold brewed coffee plus Yogi Nectar’s kefir based cooling drinks.

While Crabbes Creek Woodfired’s Jon, Gina and their children take a well-deserved break we have Huckleberry Bakes sourdough bread filing in and as always Show N Shine Deli Café’s bread, traditional custard tarts, pies, gf donuts and more.

And for a tasty sweet treat with a French or Danish nuance you can’t go past Tyalgum Bakehouse’s fresh croissants and pastries.

Come and enjoy breakfast at the market this week while stocking up on fresh foods and more.
