This week will see the start of new season Tweed River Pecans pecans over at Byron Spice Palace! Kaye and the team over at Tweed River Pecans have been busy busy harvesting –all to get the new season pecans in stock for us. I hear in the past few days there has been a bit of a challenge over at Tweed River Pecans. Kaye tells me that it wouldn’t be harvest without something critical breaking and this time it was the (newest) tractor. Unfortunately, the piece that broke is not in stock in the whole of Australia, so instead they got out their good ol’ John Deer to the rescue (after a day long facelift) – and now they are back harvesting again thank goodness! Pecans are rich in vitamins and minerals that are important for healthy skin, eyes, teeth, bones, muscles, and nerves. There is also a lot you can do with pecans – of course, you can add these delicious nuts to your baking but they are also great in a salad, or in a roasted vegetable dish or even as a snack. Kaye will be joining us at the market this week for a special week of nut cracking so if you or the kids would like to have a go do pop by to take a look.
