COVID 19 Update and Safety Procedures

While the Tweed Shire is well and truly open for business, we do not want travellers from Sydney hotspots visiting us right now – especially at our market. So far the Tweed Shire has avoided significant COVID-19 infections and currently there are no active cases – as at 28th July. Let’s keep it that way.

The health and safety of our customers and stallholders is our number one priority.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and flexibility with our new and ever evolving COVID -19 safety procedures. Each Wednesday there are possible changes/additions to our procedures to keep you and our stallholders safe and we trust in your understanding and compliance.

Once again we ask that you all please shop considerately:

  • Keep the required physical distancing of 1.5m that we all now know about and understand.
  • If the farm stall area becomes too busy – as it occasionally does  – please do some of your other market shopping and come back a little later. At times we may have to limit the number of people according to the space on each queue and the maximum people permitted n each farm stall.
  • PLEASE DO NOT HANDLE FOOD unless it is the very item that you are buying. If you touch it buy it.  Please shop with your eyes until they fall onto the very item you want – if you pick something up you will MUST buy it.
  • Three Sons Coffee Cartel has decided NOT to handle your personal keep cups during this period for their staff protection and yours too. So no keep cups please.

HYGIENE AND CLEANING

Signs identifying hand sanitizer stations are placed at each of the three hand wash stations. Each station has water, anti-bacterial liquid soap, hand sanitizer and a bucket to collect the wastewater. There are also hand washing signs in the toilet block with a pump hand wash and a drier. Please sanitise your hands after using an ETPOS machine.

IF YOU ARE SICK – PLEASE STAY HOME

COVID-19 symptoms include (but are not limited to) fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue and shortness of breath. Covid-19 most often begins with a temperature of 37.3 degrees centigrade or more and is contagious from the first sign of illness.

If there is any reason to believe that a stallholder or a visitor to the site may be exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms, or may have returned from overseas countries they will be asked to withdraw to a location away from interaction with others and may be requested to leave the market site.

We will have beautiful music for you to enjoy while shopping however we are encouraging “shop and go” for your wellbeing and that of others too. We respectfully ask that you PLEASE STAY AWAY IF UNWELL.
