Belle’s Kitchen returns + Loki’s Chai Cart new season corn 😋

What’s NEW at the Market this Week?

Belle’s Kitchen – one of our past favourites is returning this week as a fortnightly stall so you can enjoy Bel’s popular and much loved toasted muesli as well as her many other products that now includes a delicious chicken liver pate made using organic chicken livers, savoury crackers, cinnamon infused date butter, Nana’s Tomato relish and choc-a-chino breakfast blend .

Bel said that her cinnamon infused date butter is “a heavenly smooth blend of dates, purified water and cinnamon. Simple but amazing, this natural alternative sweetener is low in sugar and high in fibre. Partner it with your porridge in the winter months, spread it over your toast, pancakes or banana bread, or combine it with our Choc-a-Cino Blend for lunchbox or after school treats.” It sounds like a lovely addition to a Christmas hamper.

Also commencing this week is Loki’s Chai Cart with Loki at the helm. Loki will alternate with Heart and Halo so that those who love a spicy chai will have the opportunity to enjoy one EVERY week.

What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

Delicious new season corn has arrived at Everest Farm so pick some up this week and enjoy corn on the barbie or raw shaved off the cob for a delicious sweet addition to your salads.

To barbecue simply keep it in its husk leaving the silk on so that it adds extra sweetness. The husk prevents it from drying out although some suggest that it is good to soak the corn in its husk first. Carefully put a little oil or butter under the husk by gently peeling it back then rolling it back up. Back up. Cook – 5 minutes on each side and then a little longer on a lower heat = approximately15-20 minutes should work although very fresh juicy sweet corn may need less time. ENJOY!

Bio Organic Farm AND Sylva Lining Organics have lovely garlic scapes for you to enjoy. These can be used in so many different ways – added to soups, pesto, tossed on a stir fry or diced in a salad just to name a few. I also love to leave then in a vase so they can fully open and then break them up and toss over my salad.
