The $10.00 market voucher winner (see Facebook offer) will be drawn on Tuesday and announced on Facebook. So if you haven’t yet entered there is still time to be in the draw – simply tell us on Facebook how you used produce that you bought at the market last week. What did you cook or prepare??
Produce Update:
- We Welcome back Phil Buck of Quarterdeck Citrus with a variety of certified organic citrus produced on his Burringbar farm.
- Narbey’s Best Avocados will have Pinkertons this week. Doug said that we have seen the end of the nutty non-browning Shepards. The Pinkerton has a fairly small pit – so lots of flesh for your money and it turns black as it ripens – so you know its ready. It is best sliced around in round slices NOT top to bottom – as it ripens – then place lemon juice (or similar) over the cut flesh and wrap firmly to store.
This cooler weather brings in an array of vegetables including cabbages, cauliflower, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, taro, beans, eggplant, and much more so think think hearty winter soups and roasted vegies.
Look out for Hayters Hill Grill SOUP of the DAY. Last week their spicy pumpkin and coconut soup was delicious! This week I think the focus will be on carrots! Watch Facebook for an update on this one!

Vishnu, the enthusiastic creator of these delightful treats says “all our cupcakes are made with fresh ingredients exclusively for you. They are baked with love and devotion, simply because we love what we do. We offer a range of delicious, traditional cupcakes or we can bake just for you”.
All colours are natural and Vishnu always uses certified organic ingredients wherever possible. She is working on a gluten free option and vegan option for future markets.
