New season crispy sweet Royal Galas

What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

Australia’s favourite apple is back! New season Royal Gala apples arrive this week. Simply follow the aroma of these very aromatic apples! Nothing compares to the crisp texture and sweet flavour of new season apples straight from their orchard near Stanthorpe – the place so well known for producing the best Royal Gala apples in Australia.

Characterised by a blush of pink on its skin this dense, sweet, juicy apple is the perfect lunch box fruit. Simply delicious anytime!

Storage tip: To keep your apples crunchy the advice from Aussie Apples is to keep your apples in the fridge. Fruit bowls full of shiny red apples look great in impressionist art, but they’re a sure way to make your apples floury.

Did you know that in a 2014 survey about Australia’s favourite apple conducted by Source:NewsComAu the Royal Gala was ranked NO. 1.

Nestled in under the camphors beside the Costanzo Apple Stall are Tallogum Raspberries.

A great special on organic garlic is available at Sylva Lining Organics so if you missed last weeks  garlic check it out this week.

And in case you missed last weeks post – One Organic seedlings is back. It is perfect weather for planting your summer seedlings to check out the range available at the market.

So many beautiful gentle lisianthus too at Jumping Red Ant as well as their sassy heliconias and few fresh figs too.

  • Bangalow Road’s Almond Milk – is now a regular at our market and this week will be on theentry path near my “office”.
  • One Organic – with new summer seedlings
  • Absent will be Nourished Live Foods but Jess and Jan will be back next week.

Coming this week: This week All Natural Meat Co will be carrying Oakleigh Farm’s free range eggs. Scott the farmer will be at the market too this week only.   We are hoping Scott and Anta will soon have their own egg stall when their production increases sufficinetly.

Season has ended for: Avocados, macadamia nuts, pecan nuts. They will return in April. Apples have finished BUT new season Royal Galas will be in NEXT week – yeah!!

Weather: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers – how wonderful these light showers have been for the garden and the temperature! Wednesday we will see cooler weather continuing with temps ranging from high teens up to the mid to high 20’s.

*REMEMBER* ATM at the market!
We have an ATM onsite for your shopping convenience.
