Fuerte avocados, seafood and pears

What’s NEW This Week?

AVOCADOS are back! John Aitkin’s said that his Fuertes are ready now so they are at the market this week. I love the Fuertes and wait all year for this avocado that has a rich nutty flavour. Fuertes are a thin skinned avo so all the more flesh to eat but it means they don’t travel well making them more suited to a farmers’ market than travelling long road miles. Visit Jumping Red Ant for your local avocados this week.

What’s GREAT This Week?

Also great this week are the new season pears and apples so visit Andy at the Costanzo Apple Stall. And grab a packet of Ian’s macadamia nuts at his Nudgel Nut Stall.

Community Support: Murwillumbah Community Men’s Shed with their very popular camphor laurel bread boards (if weather permits).

Fortnightly, monthly stall changes:

  • Go Earth Organic Compost back NEXT week. Hamish and Mark bring this popular compost to the market fortnightly now. It is a great addition to your garden as you prepare your soil for autumn and winter planting.

Seasonal updates:

  • Narbey’s Best Avocados returns on 5th April with Shepards avocados.
  • Blueberry Fields returns in July or August weather depending.

*REMEMBER* ATM at the market!

We now have an ATM onsite for your shopping convenience.

Entertainment: Broadfoot

Weather: We may be very lucky and have a fine day this week. The forecast is for a cloudy day with patchy morning fog inland. There is an 80% chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 20 with daytime temperatures nearing 30 degrees.
