Monty’s Strawberries

Monty’s Strawberries are locally grown strawberries have been popular in the Tweed area for many years  – in fact so popular that three generations of the Montgomery family are now growing strawberries.  Kerry and Lorraine Montgomery began their business more than 26 years ago setting up a hydroponic system that has proven very successful. This legacy has been continued with granddaughter Sarah now having her patch at their Old Lismore Road farm base and son David has his farm at Dulguigan.

Sometime in August or September each year Sarah Montgomery will bring her new season strawberries and the season will last up to December of it is not too hot.

For the remainder of the year Sarah has their very popular fruit flats, ice blocks and ice creams all based around the fruit grown on their farms. And you can even have your choice dipped in liquid chocolate while you watch!  Children love their strawberries on a stick!  Fresh or sometimes frozen berries are dipped into a bucket of liquid chocolate and frozen ready to be devoured by their many fans – young and old!!
