What’s NEW this week?
Simply follow the aroma to find TANZO’s new season apples. YES Royal Gala APPLES are back! Tanzo apples are so popular and are the most locally grown apples that we can support. Although coming from near Stanthorpe known for producing the best Royal Gala apples in Australia – the family farm is the nearest apple growing orchard to M’bah.
Characterised by a blush of pink on its skin this dense, sweet, juicy apple is the perfect lunch box fruit. Simply delicious.
And here is a tip from http://www.aussieapples.com.au – Gently flick the apple near the stem to check its ripeness. A dull sounds means that it’s ripe, a hollow sound means it’s overripe.
What’s great? – Mayfields Market Kitchen – Scott and Kirsten bring you a great range of breakfast options so meet friends at the market this week and enjoy a wonderful market breakfast. They are relocating into the pavilion and can be found next to Bagels.
Pictured is their grilled field mushrooms with crispy bacon & herbed sour cream and their popular omelette. They also offer a wide range … so do check out their vast menu this week and have a chat to them about what you like.
Coming soon – Grapes are coming soon! Tanzo apples are anticipating their black muscat grapes will be arriving at the market on Wednesday 17th February. Regular shoppers know that this black muscat grape has a short but sweet season so enjoy it while we can. It is a popular medium sized dark grape with a very sweet flavour.
In March we will see Nudgel Nuts return with their new season macadamia nuts. In the meantime Tweed River Pecans are available from Barry at his Caldera Honey Stall (next to Sylva Lining Organics).
Narbey’s Best Avocados expect to have new season avocados ready for the market in March as well – perhaps mid to late March depending on the weather.
Stallholder update:
- 11th Hour Coffee – is back this week and away the last 3 weeks in February.

- Sadly we say farewell and good luck to Rob Johnson and Kadi of Clothiers Creek Fresh Produce who are setting off to seek greener pastures. We will miss them and their produce especially their papaya and passion fruit so if you can recommend a farmer growing these please let me know.
