This week:
Blueberries are back! Once again Amanda will be bringing blueberries from Otto and Lynette’s Blueberry Fields farm at Brooklet near Newrybar. Those little powerhouses of antioxidants are very popular so arrive early to ensure that you don’t miss out. Try making a blueberry and chia breakfast pudding for a great burst of energy in your day or visit http://www.australianblueberries.com.au for more inspirational blueberry recipes.
Amanda will also bring a small supply of organic asparagus for the early birds.
Bio Organic Farm’s – Lebanese cucumbers are back along with massive bunches of silver beet.
Sylva Lining Organics has an abundant supply of celery and broccoli – I bought the biggest head of broccoli last week and have used it steamed and in a broccoli soup. Delicious!
We say good bye to Krishna Farm – Georgie is sad to go but without produce to sell it was not working so there will no longer be any wheat grass or green smoothies.
Regular Stallholder and Fresh Produce Update
Cecil Farm – Are busy picking broccoli, cauliflower, silver beet, sugar-snap peas and snow-peas.
Clothiers Creek Fresh Produce has a good supply of their Little Gem, cavendish and Goldfinger bananas and also paw-paw. So try these and you will be as happy as Rob!
The heat is bringing out the cool … so beat the heat with:
Chai Harem – this week try their cool drinks – chai kombucha, peppermint kombucha and inner warrior kombucha.
Beagel and the Bagel – Ulani will have an extra supply of their cool and delicious sparkling lemon myrtle and organic apple juice!
3rd market for Local Fusion Foods with their tasty wholesome tortilla rolls made using your choice from their range of flatbreads filled with haloumi and organic quinoa salad served with a special spicy Moroccan tomato sauce and cucumber and mint tzatziki. Their kale chips and activated nuts were very popular and in a few weeks they will have fermented foods made using their own home grown vegies.
Don’t forget to purchase a market bag this week – great gifts filled or empty!
