Leeks and new activated almond dukkah😋

What’s GREAT at the Market?

Add leeks to your market shopping list this week. They are such a great addition to so many meals. Tonight I am using them as a basis for my soup gently sautéed and will include them in my frittata too. Leeks have the mildest and sweetest flavour of the onion family, and there are lots of ways you can enjoy them in cooking – from frittatas to pastas to salads to fritters, leeks make a great addition in almost every meal and every cuisine.

What is your favourite leek recipe?

Leeks from Summit Organics - also available at other farm stalls.

What’s NEW at the Market?

Spice Palace has a delicious new dukkah at the market now based on activated almonds, with hemp seeds and lemon myrtle. It is superb and if you love the flavour of lemon myrtle as much as I do you might describe this dukkah as deliciously sublime. They also have a hazelnut dukkah and a macadamia nut dukkah –   both tasty.

How do you like your dukkah? I love it sprinkled on my salad or on steamed and roasted vegies for that extra flavour. Dukkah is also perfect for a grazing board with fresh Crabbes Creek Woodfired sourdough and Grumpy Grandmas olive oil. Dip the bread in the oil and coat in dukkah! 😋

They also have fabulous spice blends – always so fresh. And you can’t go past their delicious dips. I love them all but most frequently find I buy their beetroot and mint dip towards the end of the market when I am hungry! It really is a meal in a jar.
