Shepard avocados – a small supply of new season at Narbey’s Best Avocados and also available at Jumping Red Ant also has this delightful avocado.

Fran and Tim O’Hara from Five 90 Fruit Company will be joining us for about 4 weeks or so. They will be positioned between Narbey’s Best Avocados and Local Fusion Foods inside.

 

 

 

4th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION – the birthday party kicks off at 7am with:

Free gift vouchers (and fruit and vegie trays) of more than $800 in value are being drawn every half hour starting at 7.30 am. Vouchers have been kindly donated from the many businesses that support the market including:

⚛ Included in the draw are from stall holders with the fruit and vegie trays being drawn mid morning and last draw of the morning.

Look out for the Tasting Tent with samples from bagels to choc coated macas, Byron Bay miso, Kasundi, Raw Sesame crackers, Kale Chips, muffins, red papaya, tempeh and lots more!

Seasonal fruit or vegie recipe: Kaye’s Pecan and Ricotta Celebration Cake .

Ingredients:

250 g (11/4 cups) ricotta cheese

11/2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice

1 tsp bicarb soad

2 3/4 cups of SR flour (of for GF use combination of buckwheat, brown rice, Tapioca, coconut flours)

¼ cup honey

2 tsp mixed psice

1 cup chopped pecans

(optional) 2 eggs beaten

(optional 2 tablespoons brandy or molasses.

 

Method:

Combine ricotta cheese, bicard soda, fruit, honey, molasses and juice in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool. Add dry ingredients and eggs and mix well. Add brandy. Spoon mixture into a greased and lined 23cm cake pan 2 loaf tins.

Press added pecans on top for decoration. Bale at 160c for 30 minutes and 130c for the remainder (approx. 2 hours).
