One Organic is back with summer seedlings + cane juice + neck and shoulder massage

What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

Great mangoes, blueberries raspberries and dragon fruit, delicious cane juice, and lots of fresh fruit and vegies, tropical flowers and more plus wonderful sourdough breads, pastries and so much more means we are all set for another great market.  And One Organic is BACK ?.

The pop Up Byron Cane Juice was very popular last week so come and meet Jordan and Anir and check out their range of flavours this week. They have lime, ginger, passionfruit and tumeric. Please let me know your favourite??

One Organics is back with a range of organic and heirloom seedlings that are grown from open pollinated non hybrid non treated seeds. Summer plantings work well if you have prepared your soil well so great compost and well rotted animal manures plus some rock minerals will provide a great foundation for hungry summer produce such as basil, rocket, sorrel plus  all varieties of kale, lettuces, silverbeet, eggplant, tomatoes and more. To assist with this Kieran always includes some great One Organic compost with every punnet of seedlings. This plus a good watering in with Seasol will help reduce transplant stress. As Kieran says good nutrients and water are like a sedative for plants.

Other seedlings to plant now include: Asian Greens, Capsicum, Chillies, Chokos, Cucumbers, Eggplants, Pumpkin, Radish, Shallots, Snake Beans, Squash, Sunflower, Sweet Corn, Sweet Potato, Tomato, and Zucchini.

Summer heat means more feeding and more water so feed weekly. To assist you with this OO’s has a plant food and products that boost microorganisms in your soil. Adding good microbes helps to make healthier and stronger disease resistant soils with a better soil structure – just like good microbes helps to make our us healthier too. Have a chat to Kieran this week.

A great vegie to grow all year round is in sub-tropical areas is amaranth spinach so I will write a little more about this one next week.

Always include some flowers to attract beneficial insects and bees.

A tip from Kieran: It is important to rotate mulch as it breaks down in your soil. Varying your mulch to include variety such as lucerne and Rhodes grass and sugar cane delivers different nutrients to your soil.
