What’s NEW at the Market this Week?
This week I am delighted to introduce to you Marci and Jess from marci food. Marci Lutken is the creator of marci food. She describes herself as an holistic chef, artist, mother, general health nut & lover of feel good food. So marci food is bringing to the market organic, vegan and gluten free food choices that fill a much needed gap for shoppers wanting an organic food option to enjoy while meeting with friends.
Jess who is the front of house face of marci food will be cooking potato and herb rosti served with vegan aioli, beetroot kraut and market greens with activated seeds and her signature apple cider vinaigrette.
She will also have a sweet potato fritter served with tahini and lemon sauce, market greens and activated seeds.
And if you are wanting to enjoy something with a coffee or chai tea then you will love her Choc Fudge Brownie with crunchy chia + raw choc drizzle.
Also available are packets of artisan Biscotti – cranberry, rosemary & pepita.
Marci Food was approved to become a stallholder last year but for a number of reasons couldn’t take up the offer so we are thrilled to have the added diversity that marci food now brings to the market.
Seasonal Fruit
While our local orange and mandarin season has drawn to a close we are so lucky to have a long local blueberry season thanks to Otto and Lynne at Blueberry Fields.
Spring heralds the season of colourful eating. Traditionally it’s the season to enjoy the abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables but in our subtropical climate we are spoilt with our fresh winter vegies. Now though – strawberries add to the lightness and joy brought on by spring weather so why not combine strawberries (from Rainbow Fruit Flats) with blueberries for a delightfully fresh summer dessert.
