Finger limes (citrus caviar) returns and sugar cane juice commences

What’s New this week?stock-photo-molasses-and-sugar-cane-96778612

Sugar cane juice is commencing this week. Tracey ‘s stall will be next to The Beagle and the Bagels stall in the grassed area.

Unlike what you might think, sugarcane juice contains only about fifteen percent total sugar content, all of which is in a raw unrefined form.

The low glycemic effect of sugarcane juice is actually the least of its health benefits. Due to its high concentration of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese, the juice from raw sugarcane is an alkaline forming food.

Seasonal fruit and vegie update:

Finger limes are back. Visit Bob and Kate to learn more about this curious long thin fruit. A little longer than your finger and much thicker –  this fruit is bursting with juice contained in masses of roe like little balls that pop out when you squeeze a ripe finger lime at the end. Sometimes referred to as citrus caviar, these bright green or pink balls pop open in your mouth with a refreshing explosion of sour zing!finger-limes-citrus-caviar-australian-micro-white-background-36588759

Finger limes are native to northern NSW and south east Queensland.

Blood PLUMS this week and throughout January – this seasonal fruit is very popular and very juicy. Wonderful fresh and also stewed with delicious mud cream on top!
