Doug and Blanche’s avocado stall recommences this week! They have their Shepard’s avocados for the next couple of weeks. These smooth green skinned avocados do not go brown when cut so their nutty flavoured golden buttery flesh is perfect to slice and layer across a fresh salad or on perfectly poached eggs. Don’t forget to include some delicious sour dough from our artisan baker to complement that perfect meal.
Doug said that by the middle of May their Pinkerton avocados should be at the market and these will be followed in June when the Hass come into season. So for those of us who like to eat seasonally and have been anticipating the return of the AVOCADO don’t miss out!
Did you know that fresh avocados have more than 25 essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, B, B6, C and E, as well as copper, magnesium, potassium and zinc so they not only taste good they have so many nutritional benefits.

Farmers’ Choice Organic is at the market this week for seedlings and potted plants. Being a fortnightly stall their May dates at the market will be 14th and 28th.
No Nudgel Nuts stall this week. Sad but true as Ian is away BUT he will definitely be back next week.
