Mangoes + Portuguese tarts at La Dulce Vida

What’s NEW This Week?

We welcome local M’bah resident Gina Nock of La Dulce Vida with her deliciously tempting and VERY popular Portuguese Tarts and organic churros (traditional Spanish doughnuts). These are handmade using organic and local ingredients and chocolate and caramel dipping sauces are also available to have with the churros.

Also NEW this week are our long awaited locally grown mangoes. Will and Shelle have spent the weekend picking from their mango trees located on a delightfully scenic part of Everest farm. Shelle said that their mangoes are grown without using any sprays or fertilizers – just sunshine, rain and lots of love.

They will have a great range of mangoes for the next couple of weeks as they picked Valencia Pride, Bowen’s, R2E2, Kensington Prides, Sensations and some Namdoc Mia Thai green mangoes.

Will Everest is a third generation farmer from a family that selected an 1800acre farm in Murwillumbah in the early 1900’s. Their bananas are also superb. If you are not yet familiar with the Everest Farm stall look for the Will and Dan in their black shirts with the Everest logo.

Mangoes are also grown by Rainbow Fruit Flats who brought their first harvest last week.

Community Support: Tweed Palliative Support (TPS) is at the market this week with their artisan range of delicious chocolates – great for gifts and this week they have some heart shaped ones for Valentines Day too. Enjoy a decadent chocolate macadamia with your coffee or chai.

TPS is fund raising to support the palliative care that they provide with no government funding. So please say hello to Liza and Meredith who are behind this very worthy cause and help them to help the locals in need.

Macadamia Oil refills are available from Rob at the Spice Palace Stall until Ian returns with new season macas in March.

Fortnightly, monthly stall changes:
