Thank you all for supporting the Market’s 4th birthday celebration last week. It was a fantastic morning with beautiful weather and such a great vibe! And so many gift vouchers to give away it was hard to keep up …
The winner of the highly coveted Country Roots Festival 4 day pass was the very lucky Alice Brown. Congratulations Alice. Other business voucher winners will be listed on the market’s Facebook page.
What’s New this week?
Nudgel Nuts is back this week after an unexpected absence due to ill health last week. Ian is thrilled to be returning with chocolate coated macadamias.
He will also be carrying new season pecans in their shells from Tweed River Pecans. Kaye said that the wet weather over Easter has put TRP’s a week behind with their drying and husking. They are working hard to gather the biggest crop they’ve ever seen! So lots of delicious shelled pecans will be coming soon.
590 Fruit Company with the very best finger limes will be at the market this week. Fran O’Hara said that they have a great variety of very high quality finger limes this year. Fran will also have guavas for the next couple of weeks and worm wee in 500ml bottles – great for your vegie patch.
Jumping Red Ant has the Fuerte avocado this week. It is a small to medium pear shaped avocado with a buttery texture and excellent flavour. Originating in the Mexican state of Puebla its name means strong in Spanish, after surviving a 1913 California frost.
Narbey’s Best Avocados Sheperds variety has run out so we can expect Narbey’s back late May when their new avocado varieties come into season enabling them to continue supplying avocados for the rest of the year.
Crumbs and Stuff will have: GF macadamia and lime cake, some ANZAC biscuits, GF crumpets (very popular with salted caramel and Everest Farm bananas, and new season rosella jam) along with all Sarah’s usual artisan preserves and biscuits.
Sylva Lining Organics will have beautiful crisp new season small to medium cos lettuce and french radishes.
Entertainment this week: Rob Csokas:
With his casual, warm style comprising of rich vocals, acoustic finger style guitar, harmonica and sometimes the didgeridoo Rob evokes a sense of calm joy.
Supporting the Community: Dragon’s Abreast Mt Warning will be at the market again this week. We enjoy supporting the local community and DAMW will be at the market once a month.
Another group we support is Coming soon: The Murwillumbah Community Men’s Shed will be back next week with more camphorlaurel bread boards. These proved to be very popular last week and they sold out unexpectedly early.
