Two fabulous farm tours are coming up soon. The first is a Farm Tour + Luncheon at Summit Organics Farm. Rod and Tania believe that: Organic farming isn’t just about healthy food production — it’s about belonging to a community of people who care about themselves, the environment and the future. Tania said that “the perfect end to our farm walk is with a delicious, healthy, freshly-picked-at-the-farm lunch under the trees — all with the most amazing views of Mt Warning!” 😋🍅
So if you would like to join them on Saturday 28th July at 10.30am for a picturesque and informative stroll through their Certified Organic farm and be part of where your food comes from book your place with Tania at the market this week. It is $25 for this package of experiences.
Building on years of experience in creating healthy soils Tania and Rod produce an abundance of vegies throughout the year. They have been expanding their range to include (along with all their regular greens, ginger, tumeric and sweet potatoes) a constant supply of freshly harvested microgreens + organic herbs + rhubarb, fennel and soon strawberries – all through clever use of greenhouses and experience combined.
NEW Last Week: In case you missed out on spotting our newest stall Bloom Edible Flowers are right next to Summit Organics. Bloom Edible Flowers had their first ever market stall with us last week and we are thrilled to have them join our market. Katie and James have high energy and great plans and already are value adding to their produce. Please visit Rachel who will be the face of their stall and explore even taste test some of their products. They have pastes and syrups made using native bush tucker, dried and fresh flowers plus biscuits and cupcakes to inspire as well as flower and herb infused lavash, salts and sugars.
POP UP STALL THIS WEEK:
Mad Mountain farm: We are spoilt for choice with Mad Mountain Family Farm pop up at the market this week. They have a superb range of jams and sauces that complement but do not duplicate existing stall holder products. MMFF’s range includes chimichurri, paw paw jam, tamarillo jam, and an extensive range of chilli sauces. As well they bring a range of unusual potted chillies, their own home grown herbal tea blends, rose water (in the photo) made using their own organically grown roses and so much more.
BACK in August: Narbey’s Best Avocados – with Hass and then soon after Lamb Hass around September or October.
Blueberry Fields will be back in August too. They are still waiting for their blueberries to really come into season so that we can enjoy their buckets again.
ABSENT: Flat Earth Organics as Jeremy is taking some well earned time off to attend a wedding o’seas.
Weather: A perfect winters day with a chilly start of 4-9 degrees warming up to a perfect low to mid 20’s.
