Want to know and see where your food comes from? This week something exciting is happening over at Johny’s Garden – there will be a farm walk in conjunction with Tweed Shire Council. The walk will be on Thursday 2 May from 1pm to 3pm at the farm over at Johny’s Garden in Duranbah. Toby and the Sustainable Agriculture Program team will lead a walk and talk through Toby’s fruit and vegetable production system. Toby has let me know that he will be chatting about his regenerative approaches to food production including organics, biodynamics, agroforestry, permaculture and syntropic farming practices. He’ll also talk about farm leasing and the challenges faced by young and new farmers. This sounds like a great initiative and so great to be able to see where your weekly market produce comes from. If you would like to come along you can register for the walk – it is free – at the following link: events.humanitix.com/farm-walk-and-talk-hosted-by-tobias-o-grady-and-tweed-shire-council.
