Blueberries and NVD Kefir

What’s GREAT at the Market this Week?

If you too missed your BLUEBERRIES last week the great news is they are back this week. Sunny weather means lots of blueberry picking! When it is wet they simply can’t pick as wet blueberries do not keep so occasionally we miss out. But it makes the joy of their return even sweeter!

Spring means that Nimbin Valley Dairy has lots of goat’s milk so not only are they busy making goats cheeses but they are also busy with kefir production. Only 24 hours in the incubator and tout comes both goat and cow kefir made using their 100% fresh milk from happy free range pasture fed animals. They do NOT use thickeners or gels. This pure kefir is absolutely delicious straight from the bot

tle or in your favourite smoothie.

If you would like to know more about the benefits of kefir visit https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/9-health-benefits-of-kefir#section1

In brief though kefir is high in nutrients and probiotics and is beneficial for digestion and gut health.Combined with some fresh fruit it makes one of the healthiest and tastiest desserts. So if you haven’t tried kefir and you are interested in gut health visit Nimbin Valley Dairy this week.

Many people consider it to be a healthier and more powerful version of yogurt particularly store bought yoghurt with added sugars.

So with bucket of blueberries and kefir what could be more healthy and great for the gut than a blueberry and kefir smoothy. My recipe would be two cups of kefir, one ripe banana and half a cup of blueberries and a dash of vanilla essence blended really well! A perfect brekky smoothy or as anytime snackage.
